Since then, the Palestinians have launched a campaign to join the UN as a full member state with international recognition based on their 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as a capital.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Friday Sept 2nd, 2011 it was expelling the Israeli ambassador and cutting military ties with Israel over the last year’s deadly raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla and Israel’s refusal to apologize.
Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon says his country has nothing to apologize for and that it has done all it could to avoid a crisis with Turkey.
